Phoenix’s Special Session { Bend, Oregon Pet Photographer }

It is always heart wrenching getting a call from the owner of a beloved dog who knows her companion doesn’t have much time left. Accepting that it is time to do a photo session with your four legged companion is not an easy decision.  Having photographed several of these sessions it actually becomes a beautiful time for the owner and the dog. Everyone is truly in the present moment and I feel the unconditional love between them.

Last week I was honored to photograph sweet Phoenix who is a 12 year old black lab and in the final stages of cancer. She just oozed sweetness and was such a trouper. It was as if she knew why we were photographing her and gave it her all.

I do hope Miss Phoenix’s every day left on earth are comfortable ones and full of lots of treats. I know they will be!
