Art’s New Girlfriend. {Bend, Oregon Portrait Photographer}

Bend’s most loved sculpture in downtown Bend who has been photographed, climbed on and decorated for over 30 years finally got some different attention this week. Art, who was nick named by locals, was created and designed by the very talented  Richard Beyer in 1982. Richard who passed away in April last year would have been thrilled to have seen the latest addition to his sculpture.

For years I have felt Art’s loneliness and have had the idea that he needed a girlfriend. Finally I knew I had to make my idea a reality. Fortunately I had the perfect outgoing friend willing to play the roll and paint herself silver. Maeve not only painted herself perfectly, she enjoyed every moment being Art’s new girlfriend.

While photographing this adorable couple, several folks stopped in between laughing and smiling to chat or to join in for a photo.
